Parzival
Parzival was an Arts Council-funded outdoor promenade performance within the grounds of Sharpham House.
It is without doubt, to date, the most enjoyable piece of theatre I have ever seen. I was completely enthralled from start to finish. Sharpham House was the perfect location.
An ancient myth's promenade performance at Sharpham
Written by Peter Oswald and Martin Shaw and directed by Harry Burton, Parzival was a brand-new theatrical telling of one of the greatest stories of European mythology: Parzival's quest for the Holy Grail.
The audience was taken through the woodland and gardens, watching the thrilling action unfold.
Parzival ran for a week in July 2014 and all the performances sold out.
Very atmospheric in the woods and grounds and found it a real experience...Hopefully there will be more productions like this
Totally immersing, well executed and fabulous use of all the different settings of the grounds.
