Leaving a Gift in your Will

Thank you for considering leaving a gift to the Sharpham Trust in your will.

At the heart of the Sharpham Trust ethos is our desire to build a more mindful, compassionate and environmentally sustainable world. As well as caring for and maintaining the Sharpham Estate, we connect people to nature and foster mindfulness and wellbeing through our programme of courses and retreats.

Leaving a gift in your will can help:

  • Proud financial hardship bursaries for people to attend our programs of courses and retreats
  • Maintain this beautiful 550 acre estate for the benefit of wildlife through our nature conservation programmes and organic farming practices
  • Look after and maintain heritage which is of historic importance nationally including our grade 1 listed Sharpham House

A donation of any amount will be very much appreciated and will help ensure Sharpham’s future as a centre for mindfulness, nature & heritage conservation.

Writing or updating your will

If you do decide to leave a gift to the Sharpham Trust in your will, there are 2 main types of gift you might choose – a share of your estate (residuary gift) or a set sum (pecuniary gift).

We recommend that you make an appointment with a Solicitor or legal professional to write or update your will.  There is no obligation to let us know and you can change your mind at any time.

Here is the suggested wording you'll need to add to your will. Take this along to an appointment with your Solicitor or legal professional.

Residuary gift (share of your estate):

"I leave.........per cent of the residue of my real and personal estate to The Sharpham Trust, Sharpham House, Ashprington, Devon TQ9 7UT registered charity number: 285767

Pecuniary gift (set sum):

"I leave the sum of ...........(in words) pounds £....... (in figures) to The Sharpham Trust, Sharpham House, Ashprington, Devon TQ9 7UT registered charity number: 285767
