Online meditation session

A series of free meditation sessions brought to you by The Barn at The Sharpham Trust.

These 40-minute sessions - a 30-minute meditation with 5 minutes either side - will be a weekly space to sit and connect through meditation guided by our Barn coordinators.

The sit will take place online using the platform Zoom (see further information below to ensure you have the minimum tech requirements). We'll send out guidance for using Zoom when you book and a guide to getting the best out of the sit. 
 



This weekly sit is part of a family of online offers including a 1-day Retreat at Home, a 3-day Retreat at Home, an 8-week course in Mindfulness for Health & Wellbeing and a Weekend Retreat at Home
 


 

Retreats at Home from The Sharpham Trust

During this online sit, you'll get

  • a weekly moment to pause and sit together
  • the opportunity to be part of a supportive group of fellow meditators
  • meditation led by our Barn coordinators

 

Who is this for?


This online sit is for people with all types of meditation experience, from beginner to experienced - anyone who would like to connect with their practice in the supportive company of others.

To get the most out of this session you will need a room or place in your home where you will not be distracted by other people or sounds.

To join you will need to be fully available for the duration of the session, helping to create a greater sense of group coherence with less distraction for your fellow meditators.



Technical requirements


We will be using the online application Zoom to meditate with each other.

To use Zoom you will need a computer or a phone with a speaker and camera. Full instructions will be sent with your Welcome email when you book.

You can also download the Zoom app here to familiarise yourself with it and make sure it meets your system requirements.

Schedule

The session will begin at 7pm.

Each session will incorporate a 30-minute sit, with enough time on either side to settle in.

Please be prompt - although we will be keeping an eye out for latecomers.

We will operate a Waiting Room in each Zoom session where you'll stay until we let you in.
 

Thank you so much for a lovely meditation.  I will definitely be joining again next Tuesday. A sit was so uplifting and lovely to be able to virtually connect with a group of like-minded individuals.

 

Thank you so much for tonight's meditation session. I enjoyed it very much and particularly liked Barry's pacing. I certainly felt calmer and more at peace than when I joined it.
