Volunteer Gardener placement – one-year placement with accommodation

The Sharpham Trust is offering two exceptional Volunteer Gardener placements from January to December 2026. This is more than a placement - it is a chance to live, learn, and grow in a truly stunning setting on the Sharpham Estate, while becoming part of a welcoming and supportive community.

As a Volunteer Gardener, you will gain hands-on experience, professional training and the opportunity to achieve a nationally-recognised qualification - all while contributing to a place dedicated to sustainability, beauty and wellbeing.

What you'll enjoy:

  • Invaluable practical experience in all aspects of horticulture, including sustainable no-dig growing, managing ornamental borders, lawns, orchards, and woodland.
  • Tailored training and mentoring to help you build your skills and confidence.
  • Complementary accommodation & bills in a beautiful setting.
  • The chance to gain a Level 3 Diploma in Regenerative Land-Based Systems: Agroecological Food & Farming with the Apricot Centre (learn more here).
  • Being part of a community where learning, connection and nature all thrive together.
  • This is a rare opportunity to gain skills for life, deepen your knowledge of ecological gardening and immerse yourself in an inspiring environment.
