Although we don't always see wildlife, the birds and mammals around the beautiful Sharpham Estate can leave clues to show they are here.
Learn how to find and then hopefully identify the tracks and signs they leave behind...
Wildlife expert Mike Langman will guide you through the fascinating study of tracks and signs.
Says Mike: "The paths, woodlands and fields we walk through are also used by many different animals most of which stay hidden from humans and may be nocturnal too. However, they will sometimes leave clues to their presence. With luck we may find anything from feathers, footprints, food remains to droppings or even pellets."
You'll need to practice patience and use detective work to hunt for evidence and then analyse what you find before you can identify which creature has left its clues behind.
This event is ideal for children aged seven years and older. Babes in arms are welcome but activities are not accessible for pushchairs.
