Welcome to the latest news-post with our Head Gardener Bryony Middleton

Here she writes about an opportunity in Sharpham's gardens.

I need some help here...

Well, finally we have had some serious rain to quench our thirsty plants and with so many fallen leaves and branches we are jolted out of our summer haze and reminded that autumn is just round the corner.

On the cards for autumn is the beginning of our Garden Apprenticeship which we are currently advertising.

We are looking for an apprentice gardener to work alongside me, the Head Gardener, within our walled, ornamental and woodland gardens and grounds. This year-long position is a wonderful opportunity to train in a diverse range of horticultural skills and gain a qualification in a stunning setting.

We are looking for someone who is dedicated, well-organised with excellent communication skills and the ability to work on his or her own initiative, as part of a small team. The role is being offered alongside a Level 2 amenity horticultural qualification which takes place at South Devon College with a placement at Sharpham.

But you'll have to be quick! the deadline for applications is 5th August and interviews will be held on 13th August.

More information and an application form here: www.sharphamtrust.org/about-us/vacancies

We look forward to hearing from you.
