Our wildflower meadow in front of Sharpham House

Enjoy pictures and video of the wildflower meadow we created in front of Sharpham House.

The meadow is on the site of a former vineyard, now transformed into home and food for pollinators.

Retreatants who stay with us are led through the meadow to a special sit-spot overlooking the River Dart, or are invited to explore it in their personal time.

Varieties of plants there include poppies, daisies and corn cockles, which feed bees, butterflies and other insects showing us that our work to preserve this rare habitat is so worthwhile.

Our Director Julian Carnell tells the story of the creation of our wildflower meadow - a habitat that's all but disappeared from the UK.
