Our team of conservation volunteers will continue their valuable work on Sharpham Estate, thanks to National Lottery funding.

We've been successful in being granted Awards for All funding for our Thursday volunteers, who help to preserve the land and features of our 550-acre estate.

"This is really important to us because without the volunteers, we'd struggle to maintain and protect the Estate fully," said Maya Herbolzheimer, who applied for the grant funding.

The funding pays for volunteer leader Martin Beat to continue to oversee the volunteer team for the next year. It also helps towards transport costs to get volunteers to and from Sharpham.

Martin has already worked with the volunteers to improve a secluded sit-spot in reeds beside the River Dart. See pictures of the project here
