How will I find the time to meditate?
If you're joining our 8-week Mindfulness for Health & Well-being course, you'll feel the benefits if you commit to practice at home (using the CD that comes with the workbook that we supply).
Participants find it beneficial to plan ahead and make a deliberate intention to carve out time for practice, whether first thing in the morning, in the afternoon or in the evening.
The practice is really important, so maybe you need to discuss this with family members or partners and let them know.
We suggest that you:
- Discuss your forthcoming 8-week course with famiy members and let them know how important it is to you to practice
- Set an intention to meditate regularly at a particular and suitable time
- Find a place to meditate that is comfortable and as quiet as possible (maybe even hang a 'do not disturb' sign on the door)
- Switch off the phone
You'll discuss this in your groups on the 8-week course, but it's helpful to know in advance, so that you can plan and prepare.
