Our gardener Jesse's just picked this giant fruit from our orchard.

It's huge: 8cm wide and about the same deep, with a whopping circumference of 29cm!

Said Jesse: "I had one to eat and I couldn't finish it!"

It's a Roundway Magnum Bonum - a breed developed in Wiltshire in the 1860s. According to the records, its for eating and cooking and has "firm, dry flesh with a sweet, pear-like flavour".

Our orchards contain rare breeds of apples, pears and plums - you can explore them (and taste the freshly-pressed juice) on our Apple Day on Sunday October 8, from 10.30am.
