A place in which to meditate
In the words of our retreatants
- My visits to the Barn have set me on a path I was searching around for previously. It opens up possibilities ..., and gives a sense of grounding and direction that I will take into my life and work.

Forthcoming Retreats
Themed and Guided Retreats
Themed Retreats
The Barn also offers a number of themed retreats throughout the year, integrating such activities as yoga, qi gong, shiatsu or walking into the daily schedule.
Visiting teachers will in most cases give a class each afternoon, with the rest of the schedule remaining the same as for our regular retreats.
Please take a look at our retreat calendarto see which themed retreats we currently have planned.
Guided Retreats
Periodically the Barn hosts a visiting teacher who leads the week's retreat.
Teachers give talks on specific topics, offer guidance with meditation, and answer any questions that may crop up from retreatants.
The structure of the week remains largely the same as for a regular retreat, with any specific differences stated in the retreat description.
Recent guided retreats have included weeks led by Theravadan monks, Ajahn Jutindharo and Suvico, and a 'Dharma and Recovery' week with Kevin Griffin, exploring the links between the 12-Step recovery programme and Buddhist dharma. Teachers in the past have included Stephen and Martine Batchelor and John Peacock.
