Booking Process and Fees
STEP ONE: Check suitability
To ensure that what we offer is right for you, please look at our weekly schedule and read other information provided on this site carefully. Don't hesitate to contact us with any questions.
We run retreats every week of the year, from Sunday to Saturday. Take a look at our retreat calendar to find a good time to come, then contact us to check availability.
Please complete this online booking form. Alternatively you can download this Booking Form.docx, complete it and email or post it back to us.
Have a look at our fees and decide which rate you would like to pay. If you wish to come on a supported rate please contact us before proceeding with the payment. Note that themed retreats usually cost more than standard retreats - individual prices are shown on the retreat calendar.
Please pay 50% of the total fee as a deposit, eg 50% of £210 = £105. For convenience you may wish to pay the full fee at this time, otherwise please pay the balance of your fee before your retreat starts.
Payments can be made in three ways (in order of our preference):
1. by bank transfer - easiest and cheapest for us. We email you details on receipt of your booking form.
2. by cheque (UK only) please make payable to 'The Barn' and send to: The Barn Retreat, Lower Sharpham Barton, Ashprington, Totnes, Devon TQ9 7DX
3. by debit or credit card please call Louisa at Sharpham House on +44 (0)1803 732542 to make a payment over the phone (Mon - Fri, 9am - 1pm)
A deposit is essential to secure a booking. After receiving your deposit we will email you a confirmation of your booking, with travel directions and some practical info (if you don’t have an email address, we’ll pop it in the post). Please pay the balance of your fee before your retreat starts.
If a cancellation is made: All money paid in excess of the deposit fee will be refunded. If the place is filled then the deposit can either be transfered to another week, or refunded minus an admin fee of £20.
Disclaimer: Managers reserve the right to ask retreatants to leave the Barn if their behaviour is deemed inappropriate or is impacting negatively on the well-being of other Barn residents. The full fee may not be returned in such cases.
Sitting with your back straight, close your eyes and gently focus your attention on the breath as it flows in and out of the body. Continue for at least two minutes before starting your next activity.
A place in which to meditate
