Poetry Conversations
Sharpham Poetry Conversations are hosted by nationally acclaimed, local poets, Alice Oswald and Peter Oswald.
These evenings have grown out of a love of poetry and offer an insight into a diverse range of topics and styles.
You are warmly invited to join us in the Octagonal Room at Sharpham House to read and hear poems. Occasionally, we move to other rooms in the house or outside in the gardens and down by the river,to fully appreciate poetry that has been written about or is more atmospheric in these settings.
Some months guest poets are invited and at other times members of the group take the lead with a particular poem or theme after which the audience has the chance to respond in kind if they wish.
Poetry can be interpreted as broadly as you wish; past contributions have included favourite poems, published or otherwise, songs, paintings, sculpture and even a homemade dress woven with words.....
There's no need to book, just come along.
While we don't make an entry charge, we would appreciate a donation, suggested £5, to help us sustain these events.
