In September 2012, we launched the first in a series of Artist Residencies, which we aim to develop over the next three years.
The focus for 2012 was to work with an artist who specialised in participatory practice and whose work has synergy with the principles and values of the trust.
We chose Penny Skerrett as our Artist in Residence for 2012. Penny lived at the Boat House (next to Bathing House) for a period of six weeks from the 17th of September.
For 2013, we are delighted to announce that Verse Playwright Peter Oswald and Mythologist, Martin Shaw have accepted the offer of a joint Writers Residency at Sharpham.
In September, they will collaborate on writing a Promenade Performance Play to be staged on the estate early summer 2014. This exciting project will explore the Myth of Parzival through the environment and context of Sharpham.
In addition, Peter will be a guest tutor on four Creative Writing Residential weekends that his wife, poet Alice Oswald, is running at Sharpham.
