A place to get active
In the words of our visitors
- Thank you Anna (and John) for a memorable couple of days. Lots of really genuine and deep enthusiasm from the young people that shared the experience. The beauty of the place and your warmth and clarity really has had an effect this year. It would be great to return next year and build on that with some of the same students (currently nearly all keen to sign up now!) It was a real privilege to be part of and witness such a real epiphany for some of them, concentrating on creating space to grow and wonder was definitely the best approach Thank you so much.
- Bruce (and Louise) and 17 grubby, tired, transformed teenagers (A school group of 13-15 year-olds taking part in Forest School type activities and camping out overnight in shelters on the estate)

Into The Woods: Forest School
Into the Woods is our Forest School, programme drawing on the natural learning environment of the Sharpham estate and the training of the highly skilled and qualified Sharpham Outdoors Project team.
It has been developed by our rangers, Anna McNeill and Beth using the forest school approach to learning, with a strong emphasis on positive affirmation and setting students up to succeed while recognising the importance of learning by doing.
The Forest School approach, of child-led experiential learning, is ideally suited to families who are home educating their children. With this in mind, we have created a fortnightly session specifically for those families. The sessions are based on natural world activities targeting specifically the home school network, bringing parents and children of different ages together to form a self supporting circle. Each activity includes a sharing of stories and food, seasonal crafts and bush craft skills with children at the heart.
